What is this tool?

It is a way you can find good color palettes using images you like the look of.

The tool will take any image file and look for the most dominant colors in a range from dark to light. The output is a six-colour palette plus the most dominant color in the image.

You can use these palettes for any number of applications, though a nice case use is a website. Websites often require a few mid-range to dark colors as well as lighter colors that all relate to each other. This generator should do a great job of finding the perfect palette for you.
